About Eostar and the WEB of ONE
Eostar and the WEB of ONE
Eostar and the WEB of ONE is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, where they are one of the freshest and most unique bands on the West Coast conscious, psychedelic, jamband music scene.
Music with this 5-piece band is a journey into the heart, on the wings of transcendental sounds, devotional lyrics, and dance-inspiring grooves. Band leaders Eostar and Mathias blend their uniquely different musical notions into a living and breathing performance, geared toward uplifting consciousness; reaching for the ultimate beyond-this-world experience, through long improvisational sections. Their sound is intended to resonate in the depths of the heart, transporting one into a state of bliss through becoming one with an exquisite musical blend of electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards, drum and bass.
Mathias’ melodic and trance-inducing improvisational guitar playing add an element of psychedelic depth and a syncopated groove to the cosmic, neo-devotional sound of this music.
Influenced by psychedelic rock, New Age guitar, jazz, world music and funk, Mathias’ virtuosity comes alive through hypnotizing improvised guitar solos that take the listener on a journey into the depths of one’s self. Infamously from the counter-cultural band DOUBLE DOSE, he toured the country many times playing multiple festivals, including the H.O.R.D.E tour, Oregon Country Fair, Mystic Garden Party, Harmony Festival, Dreamtime Festival, Rainbow Gatherings, Burning Man and many more for over 2 decades. He has released 3 CD’s with Double Dose and opened for many legends including Jorma Kaukonen, Warren Zevon, Dave Mason, Merle Saunders, Widespread Panic, Blues traveler and many more.
Singer/songwriter Eostar’s musical gifts revealed themselves to her at the foothills of the sacred Mount Shasta, where she embraced yoga, shamanic journeying, singing, guitar and songwriting as a spiritual path to awakening. Eostar’s songs – while preserving the depth of ancient philosophical wisdom and Sanskrit Vedic lines - bring a new and unique flavor of a trance-like shamanic overtone to the emerging Western Conscious Culture. With a special gift and knack for melody, Eostar effortlessly channels beautiful songs from the muse, and has amassed a vast repertoire of original sacred songs over the last 12 years.
Eostar released two albums of original songs prior to WEB of ONE, both with her band “Fearless Love.” The first album “Devotion” (2008) and “Rose and Lotus” (2011) were both recorded and produced at Om Studios in Oregon. In 2013, Eostar and Mathias released “West Coast Alive!” – a collection of live recordings from their 2012 tour.
“Illuminate,” their first studio recording, was released in 2016. It is a collection of Eostar’s original songs, produced by Mathias and co-produced by Eostar and Grammy nominee studio engineer Tim Gennert. This album features many outstanding musicians: Wally Ingram (Sheryl Crow, David Lindley, Tracy Chapman) on drums, Zoltan Lantos ( Lorena McKennett) on violin, Jason Crosby (Phil Lesh) on keyboard, Joe Craven (Jerry Garcia/Grisman, David Grisman Quintet) on violin and mandolin, Jared May (Tina Malia, Luminaries) on bass, Evan Fraser (Hamsa Lila, Dirtwire) on ngoni, Ian Dogole (Ancient Future) on hang, and more.
They have played up and down the West Coast, from Seattle to the Bay Area, and at international festivals including the Festival of Medicine Music in Peru, Everness Festival in Hungary, Synthesis Festival in Mexico, Bhaktifest, Bliss Camp, Mystic Garden Party, New Earth Festival in California, the Oregon Country Fair, Peace Village Festival in Oregon and the Seattle Folklife Festival in Washington.
Eostar and the WEB of ONE is now complete with Nigel Ravenwind of “Ravenwind Sound” on keyboards, Jack Springett on drums, and Jeff Mogalian on bass.
