KALEN is a songwriter, singer, keyboard player, and lyricist based in NYC, known for her dynamic live performances. Since leading the moody rock band, KALEN & The Sky Thieves (Ropeadope Records), she performs solo, supported by local talent; with her electronic project, Death By Piano; and with ambient poetry band, Late Sea. KALEN performs across the country. She's played stages such as Brooklyn Bowl, Rough Trade, & Joe’s Pub (NYC), DC9 (Washington, DC), One Longfellow Square (Portland, ME), and The Mint (LA). She has been compared to Hiatus Kaiyote, Portishead, Peter Gabriel, Fiona Apple, Kate Bush, and Karen O of The Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
