About Aris Antoniades
Born and raised in Limassol, Cyprus, Aris Antoniades has composed the original soundtrack for the Cannes listed short-film Not Now (2013), as well as five other films. His latest soundtrack for the film OPHELIA by Katalina Gutierrez is currently in audio post-production.

Mr. Antoniades's concert music is heavily influenced by his Greek heritage: merging Hellenic folk dance rhythms with Byzantine ritual chants. His works have been performed across Australia, Canada, China, Cyprus, Greece, Malta, Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom, and the United States. His recent symphonic work, Chiaroscuro, was recorded by the National Radio Symphony Orchestra of Greece (ERT) and will be broadcasted by the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation throughout the season. The piece was first performed at the historic Riverside Church in New York City under the baton of Portland Opera music director, George Manahan. His new chamber work Nostos, for Saxophone and Piano, commissioned by the Australian chamber ensemble HD Duo, was performed by the group in their 2018 World Tour. His Toccata & Fugue for Organ was performed at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC, earlier this year.

Mr. Antoniades's arranging credits include a variety of different styles and genres. His arrangement of Lalo Schifrin's famous "Mission Impossible" theme has been performed by the multi-Grammy nominated MSM Afro-Cuban Jazz Orchestra, led by Bobby Sanabria, at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola in NYC. His concert and marching band arrangements are often performed by the Military Music Corps of the Cypriot National Guard. As an orchestrator, he has recently collaborated with Broadway music director, composer, and pianist Andrew Gerle, providing some of the orchestrations for MSM's production Tony Awards: The Early Years directed by Joe Locarro (NYC, 2017). In 2019 he released his EP Covers, a reimagination of popular and musical theater songs of different styles, and from different eras, arranged for a cabaret setting.

Praised for the “spiritual heights, the drama, the tension” of his music “immersing the listener into a world of sound” (The National Herald, NYC), composer Aris Antoniades creates works for everything from Symphony Orchestras to Jazz Big Bands. He has written/arranged for eight-time Grammy nominee Bobby Sanabria, the National Radio Symphony Orchestra of Greece (ERT), twenty-eight-time gold and platinum album vocalist (IFPI Greece) Alkistis Protopsalti, as well as Michalis Hatzigiannis, George Perris, and X-Factor (Greece) judges George Theofanous and Mariza Rizou.

His latest symphonic work, Chiaroscuro, was recorded and broadcast by the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, and his Afro-Cuban Jazz arrangement of Lalo Schifrin’s famous Mission Impossible Theme was performed at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola in New York (Jazz at the Lincoln Center) in the presence of the late conga master Cándido Camero. More recently, his Toccata & Fugue for organ was performed at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC, while his Nostos for saxophone and piano, co-commissioned by the University of Sydney and the Australian ensemble HD Duo, was featured in the group's new album Music of the Commonwealth, published by Da Vinci Classics in November 2021.

Aside from concert works, Aris has written extensively for film and theater, having scored seven short-films, including the film Bizone whose title theme is available on all major streaming platforms. His theater credits include collaborations with Broadway veterans, such as composer/pianist Andrew Gerle, and director Joe Locarro - Aris provided orchestrations for their show Tony Awards: The Early Years. In Cyprus, he most recently composed original music for the Greek experimental play Women of Soil, directed by Ermina Kyriazi.

As of January 2021, he is the artistic director and principal conductor of the TrakArt Pops Orchestra in his homeland, Cyprus. In that capacity, he has collaborated with internationally acclaimed Greek composer and pianist Stefanos Korkolis, as well as other important figures of the Greek music world, including singers Kostas Hadjichristodoulou and Sofia Manousaki, and film/T.V. composer Costas Cacoyannis.
