About Kurtis Ozra Music

With the release of his debut album “Make Better A Priority”, Kurtis Ozra looks to branch out from his
Sacramento, California home to bring his message of empowerment to a global audience. Driven by his
passions to help those with mental illness, Kurtis utilizes hip-hop as his vessel to reach youth struggling
with isolation, loneliness, mental health issues and suicidal tendencies. Creating a sub-genre of hip-hop which revolves around hope, love, acceptance, and inclusion, Kurtis Ozra strives to shed the clichés of
violence, hatred, and misogyny rampant in modern hip-hop.

“Although my life remains hectic, I turn to music as my escape from reality. When I am in the studio, I feel
at peace and I am able to say what’s on my mind without the fear of judgment.”

Fueled by his personal experiences of maternal abandonment, and substance abuse, Kurtis is able to
brandish his lyrics as a therapeutic escape and create closure. A self-study into his own pain and emotions,
Kurtis puts his words out there for others suffering, as a beacon of hope, to push forward, to love and be
there for one another. Along with “Make Better A Priority”, Kurtis has created his non-profit group
“Stronger Than Pain” as an outlet for others. “I feel people have reached out to me, not only about my
music but also because of my relativity to their own stories.

When it comes to performing live, Kurtis reflects, “Performing live is an exhilarating rush I’ve never felt
before. Seeing the energy of everyone in the crowd and how passionate they relate to my music
encourages me to keep going.”
