Joe P was magnificent as usual. Nice intimate dinner club with good food and local beers. The opening act was the Johnson brothers performing as Low Gap. They played all original material and were a pleasant surprise.

Some dark songs but overall fantastic Joe! Wish you were back in St Paul but we will forgive ya! 😁

Joe always puts on a great show! It was such a treat to see him again. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve seen him. I can remember the first time was opening for John Hiatt years ago. We’ve been steadfast fans ever since. If he comes to your town, do yourself a favor and go see him! Lauren C.

Joe Pug was awesome and he never disappoints! His music, lyrics and storytelling are fantastic. He also happens to be one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.

His shows are always really great but last nights show was yet another great example of an artist who is always pushing his artistic abilities. Superb performance. His opening act was a great choice and Hello Darling harmonies were a perfect match!!

Joe Pug is an incredible performer and the venue was great. Can’t wait until he comes back to St. Augustine.

I loved it! Joe Pug is a “down to earth” kinda guy, involves his audience, loves to tell his stories and just a good person! My first time to see him live and first time at The Rumba Cafe. My Family loved his music!

Joe and his upright Bass player were phenomenal. Their vocal harmonies were nothing less than sublime. It couldn’t have been a better show. Love Joe so much! The opening act, on the other hand, was just okay; one guy was an incredibly clever wordsmith with catchy melodies and an entertaining presence, while the other guy, who seemed to be somewhat of a small town celebrity, seemed to play derivatives of the same simple chords, accompanied by juvenile lyrics and lackluster vocals, over and over again. Seemed like a nice guy, but his performance got a little tedious to sit through. The food at the venue (Broadgauge) was delicious, in a beautiful old building with lots of history and ambience, nestled across the street from such a pretty old courthouse, in a little town which was comfortably quaint and picturesque. All in all, it was a really fun time.

Been a Joe Pug fan for 15 years and he never disappoints!!! GREAT show, great set list, beautiful venue. (And cheap tickets!) Very worth the 1.5 drive I had in each direction.

Joe Pug was amazing, as usual. His lyrics are so captivating. And his rapport with the very enthusiastic audience of fans was a treat. Also loved Anna Tivel, his opener- definitely an upcoming singer/ songwriter to keep your eye on.

Joe is a great storyteller and lyricist, and you can tell that Joe puts a lot of work into that. He’s also got a great voice and is very good at the guitar, harmonica and piano. This was the best acoustic set I’ve ever seen and one of the best sets I’ve seen. The acoustics of the barn were fantastic, and I’ll be looking out for Joe and other favorite artists at this venue in the future.

Absolutely brilliant. Great music and stage presence, interacted well with the audience and the songs were beautiful. Venue was small so had a great view and sound was great too. Joe even came to greet audience members after the show and signed merch! Possibly one of the best gigs I’ve been to!

So many attempted streaming series during The Lockdown Days. Only a few did it well enough to hold my attention on a weekly basis. Joe was one.

JOe is smart, funny, a poet and a helluva a song writer. too bad there were not more places to sit

Joe Pug is one of the more underrated songwriters of his generation. He explores the shallow objectification that men place on women from a personal gaze with the line, “I’ve undressed someone’s daughter. Then complained about her looks” in the song Not So Sure. In the short, three verse, I Do My Fathers Drugs, he ponders the odd state of modernity in the United States, comparing his experience with that of his fathers, relying on the listener’s own idea of the “good ole days”. The last verse goes as follows, “When hunger strikes are fashion. And freedom is routine. When all the streets in Cleveland. Are named for Martin Luther King. You may see me at the protest. But you’ll notice that I drag. I burn my father’s flag.” With gut-punching lyrics, appropriate musicianship, and witty monologues, a Hoe Pug show is a guaranteed great overall experience.

Joe was great. a little too crowded though. 200 people in a tiny room felt like 100°.

The show was stupendous!! Joe has great depth, character and a philosophers wit. He goes out of his way to make a connection with the crowd.

Joe was awesome! He even shared some interesting stories between songs. I was brought to tears and lifted to chills as he played his set. He is an amazing talent. I am so thankful he came to town!

This show was fantastic and it made me remember how grateful I am that Joe Pug exists
