They Might Be Giants

This show was a lot of fun! Crowd was enthusiastic and the Johns treated us to two sets + two encores. (John x 2, Dan x 2, Marty plus a three-piece horn section. It got pretty loud at times but they sounded great!)

Absolutely amazing! Having been a fan since the mid 90’s and only now getting to see them live, I was not disappointed. Was even surprised with hearing ‘Spy’ live! Even got to take our 7 year old, who is well on her way to being a fan for life.

Excellent performance by TMBG! They even featured local artists on horns, drums and guitars. Epic, fun, and engaging show! Definitely would recommend seeing them perform. This was my third time seeing them in concert throughout the years and they didn’t disappoint!

Would have been 6 stars, but the venue was 21+ and nothing/ no one ever told us. My 16 year old daughter was so sad that she couldn't go in. It really was extremely disappointing for all of us.

They Might Be Giants preform all of "Flood" and other great hits of theirs. They even performed "Sapphire Bullets of Pure Love" completely backwards, then played the video in reverse for the second half of the concert and it was the song forward! Very talented. It's been a while since we've had that much fun.

It's so good when a band of your youth plays live in your adulthood and hasn't changed; or if they have, they've grown and matured and become even better. TMBG still have it.

RAIN in San Diego? Humphrey's is an outdoor venue, so the show went on. And it was tremendous. Everybody in the audience was sopping wet, and it was pretty chilly (55 degrees F). The rain came down in sheets - but very few people left. The show was fantastic - the full album FLOOD performed (not in the proper order, but that's a minor complaint) along with several of their hits and of course the ones we all know and love. Horns sounded great and John F. looks no worse for the wear after his traffic accident. John L. was his usual cynical self, but we love him! Dan Miller is a great guitarist, by the way. TMBG always gives a great show. Thanks, boys!

Awesome show, great band banter, fabulous experience all around, my 18 year old grew up listening to TMBG and she loved getting to see Doctor Worm, performed it was the last song and she was so happy that it wasn't missed.

Always a great time with TMBG! This show was 2 sets, all of Flood (broken into sets of 3-5 songs), several other favorites, a couple new ones from their latest release "Book," 3-pc horns, and two encores. Very glad to see Flans looking recovered from his accident. Solid backing band, as usual. The first set was probably the weirdest (musically) I've seen them play, but still fun. Sound was decent, not great, but it could have been different depending on your seats. Tons of patter between songs, most of it very funny, some of it just regularly funny. Packed house at The Athenaeum, which is very, very old with steep sides and an even steeper back wall. Intimate enough, yet a curious departure from the Newport where they've almost exclusively played. This was the first show I'd seen here. One suggestion: have separate bars for beer and mixed drinks. Everything would go much faster for the beer buyers and you'd sell more of it. Waiting behind customers who were trying to debate the merits of various whiskeys with bartenders was a drag.

They put on one hell of a show! They perform the songs wonderfully, and jam a few of them out for a unique version you won’t hear in the album. The banter in between songs and interaction with the crowd really made the show.

Last nights show at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg, FL was one of the best shows I have seen them do. The energy from the audience and the band was infectious. They really mixed the setlist up and that was a nice surprise. The opening song was Mesopotamians. This song was on their newest album the last time they played here in March 2008. Some other highlights were both Spy and Guitar getting played. Both of these songs have their free wheeling moments and with the energy in the room they had a lot of fun and even made the audience part of it by having us scream during Spy. Guitar just makes you want to move and dance. I haven’t heard Fingertips in a while so it was a nice way to close the show. Having the full horn section really brings the band to another level and makes what already sounds amazing even more alive. I can’t wait to see what other surprises are in store.

The band sounded really good I just didn’t know more than two songs maybe. I went to just check out the vibe because I know that they’re legends of that time and people love them. The most enjoyable moments for me was the banter between songs ha ha.

The most amazing show that I’ve seen - I’ve seen TMBG perform around 20 times live (since 1990) and this performance is in the top 3!! The venue is very clean, comfortable and great staff. I will definitely be back to see another show sand hopefully it will be TMBG again sometime soon. Thanks for a wonderful time.

Whereas some groups are great on recordings but disappoint live (I'm looking at you, RHCP), TMBG exceeded even my wildest expectations. The Johns' voices haven't changed a bit and brought me right back to 1990. The rest of the band were phenomenal. That trumpet! All the classics from "Flood" mixed with a host of other material made for an extensive setlist and a wonderful evening. I also deeply appreciated their respectful request for folks to wear masks and the vast majority of the audience for doing so. In all, it was worth the three-year wait (bought tickets in November 2019, then waited patiently as the show was rescheduled thrice) and I can't wait for them to come back to the Twin Cities.

The band was great. Great show. The venue, the royale, though I love the place, again the bands set was cut short to make way for the dance club. This happens all the time. They shouldn't have shows there if this is going to happen constantly.

As the comment sections are always the best place for a band to truly learn of their standing in the world, I’ll start with the Amazing-ness and Awe-some creation that was their concert. Then I’ll go on to speak of a master class I took once, “The Neuroscience of Acting”: in it the instructor said for us each to have a list of 3 things that, as soon as we even think of each one of the things on the list, regardless of our emotional state at the time, make us smile. (To protect us when we have to go other places for our art.) The top of my short list is FLOOD. Since I first heard it in the ‘90s, it has been on this list of instant smile makers. Thank you for that, guys. And for the awesome show last night!

TMBG never disappoint! Great show with fun energy at a great venue. The band was in top form and the sound in the theater perfectly enhanced the quirky nature of their music. A first rate show.

Great show! Terrific music, loads of energy and Humor. Don't miss the chance to see them. They played 2 sets; first set was a lot of new and not too popular songs and the second set was clock full of hits.

My first time seeing them was back in1995, they are still just as awesome today. Great mix of new stuff and old favs. Always good humour from the band. Great crowd of fans. Plenty of happy faces, sing-a-longs and dancing. Love this band.
