About Erin Ivey

"A songwriter of the first order" (Daily News) with a "rare and deeply affecting voice" (KUTX), Erin Ivey is a dreamfolk/Americana interpreter whose breakout LP Broken Gold was recently named one of 20 "albums that defined Texas music over the past 2 decades" by Texas Music Magazine.

Ivey's lush new album Solace in the Wild was produced by film composer Chuck Pinnell and reached #5 Top Album on the international Folk Radio chart. The Austin American-Statesman called it “GRAMMY-level stuff.” Indeed, was on the 64th GRAMMY ballot for Best Folk Album, along with the single “Dust Bowl,” up for Best American Roots Song.

Raised in Annapolis, Maryland and settled in Austin, Texas, Erin has performed hundreds of shows around the world in backyards, concert halls, boardrooms, and ships at sea, in a diverse arrangement of solo and band scenarios, supporting the likes of Norah Jones, Shawn Colvin, Ralph Stanley, and Stanley Jordan. She's a perennial Critics' Pick at SXSW.

As a studio session musician and live performer, her voice has graced recordings by Christopher Cross, Moonlight Towers, Bob Schneider, Mount Pressmore, Quiet Company, and many more.

Her 5 studio albums have featured an array of collaborators, from R&B/dub organ trio The Finest Kind to Tosca String Quartet, garnering numerous Top 10 and Album of the Year recognitions, and sync placements on movie soundtracks, ads, and TV shows such as Suits, The Client List, and Coach Snoop.

Erin is fortunate to be the recipient of a Black Fret artist grant, national guitar and mandolin sponsorships from Guild and Gretsch, and a signature electric guitar from Skermetta Guitars.

In addition to facilitating songwriting and creativity workshops and retreats, Erin has spoken on and moderated panels at numerous events like INBOUND, SWRFA, and GRAMMY Career Day. She is a songwriting and music business mentor at Song Rise Arts and GRAMMY U. She is on the Advisory Board for This Is Noteworthy and she is serving her second term on the Board of Governors for the Texas Chapter of the Recording Academy, as co-chair of the Education Committee, connecting industry members with opportunities to inspire and equip the next generation of music makers.
