The Guns of August

What happened to honest music? What happened to the essentials; pure talent, musicianship, good people and fun. The Guns of August, are doing their best to bring these weapons back. Besides inventing drinking games, hanging with half naked girls and making viral videos, The Guns of August are making music unlike anyone in the scene. An acoustic trio from Philadelphia, “Guns” are bringing a young, heartfelt flair to the local scene. With a background filled with a vast arsenal of musical genres, these boys are ready to turn heads, with a raw energy not normally seen in acoustic acts. Tim Burke (vocals/guitar), Ryan Stout (Vocals) and Brian Horan (guitar), are the bullets that make up this melodic revolver. The Guns of August have flipped the basics. Not only are their lyrics genuine and deep, but all of their music is written in their own tuning. These guys are the ideal D.I.Y band. Every song they have ever recorded, from their early 2009 demos to their 2011 full length, was produced by the band in home built studios.
