Edmonton’s VISSIA is carving out her niche as a fearless force in pop. Her sophomore album, With Pleasure, hailed as a triumph of pop songwriting, hit No. 7 on CKUA’s 2021 Top 100 and earned high-profile appearances at c/o Pop in Cologne and the UK’s Great Escape Festival. Blending R&B, soul, pop, and subtle folk roots, VISSIA transforms everyday moments into musical gold. In 2024, she released Live, With Pleasure, a concert documentary showcasing her sold-out cross-Canada tour with USS and featuring live versions of every song from With Pleasure. That same year, her music video “Doorway” earned a Western Canadian Music Award nomination for Director of the Year (Peter Kominek), marking her first WCMA nod. Expanding her creative reach, VISSIA debuted as a theatre composer with Rapunzel, a children’s musical touring Alberta schools in 2024/2025.
