About DayKoda
DayKoda, the music project led by the Milan-based producer and musician Andrea Gamba, explores the fields between electronic and experimental jazz by moving in an almost abstract way through dreamy textures productions strongly influenced by beat music.
Throughout the years Andrea developed a fine taste for the sound of innovative labels such as Brainfeeder and Ninja Tune, that prompted him to improve his production and master his style.
Daykoda’s discography comprises 2 full albums and many live shows, among which noticeable events such as Circolo Magnolia (where he supported Thundercat in 2022), VIVA! Festival (sharing the stage with Alfa Mist, Kokoroko, Moderat, and Gilles Peterson in 2022), Novara Jazz, Spring Attitude, and Jazz Re:Found among many others.
2023 is a pivotal year for Andrea. His new album "UNO" is set to be released in October on La Tempesta, one of the most important Italian labels.
In the summer of 2023, DayKoda toured Europe with his band for some of the most important jazz festivals, including Balkan Jazz in Tirana, Jazz Is Dead in Turin, Jazz & Blues Festival in Edinburgh and Jazz In The Park in Cluj, Romania.
His works have received support by national and international media realities such as Tom Ravenscroft (BBC Radio), Mary Anne Hobbs (BBC Radio), Travis Holcombe (KCRW), Raffaele Costantino (Rai Radio 2), Nubya Garcia (NTS Radio), Lefto (Worldwide FM), Laurent Garnier including that one of the Italian webzine Soundwall which provocatively referred to him as "the Italian Flying Lotus”
