About Haikara

Haikara was a finnish progressive rock band, formed in 1971. Band's original sound has been compared to band's such as King Crimson and Van der Graaf Generator and to some extend Tasavallan Presidentti.
Haikara's first album, Haikara, came out in 1972, and it has since became a classical progressive-rock album.

Later on Vesa Lattunen, Haikara's heart and soul made several albums; Gaefar(1974), Iso Lintu(1976), Haikara IV:Domino(1998) and Tuhkamaa(2001) with various people playing the instrument's, mainly Jan Schaper playing the sax and Tommi Mäkinen on the Bass.

Lattunen wrote, composed and sang all the song's exept on the debut Haikara, Vesa "Wellu" Lehtinen wrote the song's and also was the lead singer.

Haikara came to an end on March 2005 as Vesa Lattunen died in his home.
