Dhärä

Dhara is an amalgamation of four distinct creative forces. The differences in their musical backgrounds are actually larger than their similarities, but underneath lies a desire to create something potent, honest and compelling. Devoting their efforts to building an atmosphere as well as serving the song allows the quartet to present a unique listening experience. The band recognizes that instrumental music can be a truly limitless medium, and it allows them to pull from their vastly different influences and go on unique journeys in each song. The rhythm section is a force to be reckoned with, and the dual guitar front builds complementary layers on top, switching focus often but ultimately caving into the overall theme. Taking a DIY approach from day one, the band has recorded their own music, made two music videos and built a light show for a fuller live experience. Dhara are stepping forth with a burning desire to carve their own space in the music scene. Based in New York, the band has played venues in Long Island, Brooklyn and upstate and will continue to expand their radius. With a few local festivals under their belt, the band have set their sights on being an active musical force in New York and beyond. Their first EP dhara is currently streaming on all major platforms. With more music in the works, the band is excited to continue their musical storytelling in future releases.
