About Jupiter Rising
Jupiter Rising is an American band. The band is signed to Chime Entertainment.
80 grew up in the South, and was only permitted to sing/listen to gospel music until she was thirteen years old. She moved to California after high school, and had several short lived bands. She then recorded numerous dance music singles for Electronica labels including: Om Records, Yoshi Toshi, Sunburn, Hardkiss, and BMP.
San Diego native Spencer began playing saxophone at age nine. He later turned to Jazz music, and later Electronica. He joined the band The Beats, who were an opening act for Busta Rhymes and Reel Big Fish. He had a side project called Stereo Science.
He was invited to a party, at Fourth Street Recording in Santa Monica, California, where he met 80. Days later the two again accidentally met while both 80 and Spencer were ask to help cut a track at the Black Eyed Peas studio. Spencer moved into 80's house shortly thereafter, and the two began writing prolifically. Spencer joined 80's six member group and was soon signed by Chime Records, and they began producing their self-titled debut record with production assistance by Jason Villaroman. The group's music began to be replaced by records influenced by Spencer and 80, and eventually only the duo survived.
