About Jimmy & Scots Folk Band
The Jimmy & Scots Folk Band's aim is to evoke traditional music with the arrangement of secular and unreleased songs for a journey thorugh time through Celtic and Nordic cultures. Born as a duo from the passion of two friends travelling around Europe, over the years it became a band of five members and performed on the stages of some of the main Italian Celtic festivals, opening for bands such as The Clan and Celtica Pipes Rock.
After self-producing their first traditional music album 'No Man's Tales' in 2019, the band signed a record deal with the 'Maxy Sound' label and released 'Seven Irish Nights' in 2023. This album, containing the band's first unreleased track 'A Stout for Breakfast', led the Jimmy & Scots Folk Band to win Discovery of the year 2023, Best Male Voice 2023 and Artist of the Year Chosen by Fans 2023 at the MC Music Awards. The same year, 'Seven Irish Nights' was entered into the Irish Traditional Music Archive, the world's most important archive of Irish music, located in Dublin.
On 23 February 2024, after exponential growth, they released their new EP 'The Viking Irishman': a concept album based on some of the most significant historical events that took place in Ireland from the Middle Ages to the present day. This project, which includes both unreleased and traditional tracks, aims to catapult the listener into them and mixes Nordic and Celtic instruments with epic vocal harmonies in a unique narrative
