Soul Trash

Founded in 2006, SOUL TRASH are a high-energy Punk 'n Roll machine, fueled by an evolving cast of esteemed punk rock veterans. At the core of the band is guitarist/songwriter DAVE DIAMOND (THE FREEZE), whose talent for writing explosively catchy 3-minute sonic assaults has attracted some of the biggest names in the L.A. underground music community. While the band is clearly inspired by the early punk bands such as; Adolescents, Social Distortion, and Bad Religion, SOUL TRASH takes it up a notch by delivering songs with a thoroughly modern edge. Crunchy guitar riffs, a visceral rhythm section, caustic lyrics and melodic harmonies make for a potent blend of catchy, kick-ass punk ‘n roll. In 2009, DAVE DIAMOND formed an alliance with renowned vocalist, drummer and producer GIZZ LAZLO (THE FREEZE, former drummer of U.K. SUBS, DR. KNOW, BADTOWN BOYS, THE ELECTRIC FERRETS; former lead singer of DEAD LAZLO’S PLACE, FOR SALE and Germany’s CAMELBOY). Originally asked to produce a Soul Trash EP, Gizz soon signed on as the full-time drummer for SOUL TRASH and recently switched over to lead vocalist and frontman for the band. Together, Dave and Gizz began the arduous search for musicians that would solidify their studio line-up. They recruited VINCE HERO (vocalist/guitarist of FOZZY’S HERO) on rhythm guitar and LEXX VOGEL (of PAL JOEY, THE RESISTORS) on bass guitar. Stronger than ever, the band continued to gig throughout 2010, gaining a hardcore audience of die-hard fans, as well as additional musical collaborators that include CHUCK POQUETTE (formerly of THE BOURBON SAINTS), CHRIS "SEEDY SPITZ" DEL RIO (of TEN FOOT POLE), and BILL CLOSE (original guitarist of THE FREEZE). Following a short hiatus while Dave and Gizz were on a European tour with THE FREEZE in late-2011 SOUL TRASH are working on their full-length CD to be released in summer 2012. The band has also released a CD-EP, which was recorded, mixed and mastered at their own studio, SONIC TRASH RECORDING STUDIO (Lake Balboa, CA). 2012 is proving to be a year of recording and touring throughout the US with a possible spot as direct support in Europe.
