About Take The Earth Beneath Us

Take The Earth Beneath Us began in late 2010. Members: Matt Charlton (guitar), Ty Kingston (guitar), Cody Muraro (vocals), Chris Hatch (drums), and Aaron Iwanow (former bassist) forged an original group with influences in metal and hardcore. After several months of writing and preparation the group entered Rain City Recorders to create their first release—a five song self-titled EP with renowned engineer, Curtis Buckoll. The band is based out of Vancouver British Columbia. Their style is notable for aggressive, technical guitar riffs, memorable choruses, and unforgiving breakdowns. In May 2011 TTEBU announced themselves to the public by distributing their EP online and at shows. Wasting no time, they toured Western Canada and quickly attained an impressive fanbase—in less than half a year their EP accumulated over 3500 online downloads. They shared stages with prominent acts such as Misery Signals (Ferret Music), After The Burial (Sumerian Records), Bermuda (Mediaskare Records), Structures (Sumerian Records), Volumes (Mediaskare Records), and many others. After a minor lineup change in early 2012 (Alex Marusyk on bass), the band teamed up with booking agent, Cam Birchill (CB Booking), and went on a ten show western Canada tour with The Fallacy. In May TTEBU entered Rain City Recorders and produced two singles with Curtis Buckoll; shortly after they played a twelve show tour in direct support of Fall City Fall (Victory Records), and Slumlord. The shows grabbed attention from hundreds each night—TTEBU became known for high-energy performances with ideal variations of crowd interaction, stage professionalism, eclectic abilities, and musical intensity that left everyone wanting more. It was a monumental year…and they’re just getting started. Recently the band teamed up with booking agent, Piers Simpkin (Throw It At The Wall), and left for their first cross Canada tour in February. They headlined all of the western dates and toured with notable eastern bands: Beheading Of A King, and The Afterimage (Distort Management). Currently, they're taking time off to write a album with studio time set in spring, 2014.
