About Gentle Persons Club

GPC began with front-man Brad, repeatedly being accused of hoarding his music and letting talent get lost in Brisbane pubs. The first gig with virtuosic fiddle player Gareth was the beginning of a band who today explore the rich diversity of world roots’ music, preach stories that inspire a connection to such things as shared experience, our conditions, conditioning & relationships, the earth cosmos with its many wonders & medicines.

GPC launched into festivals & touring on the back of their debut single/video release for the song 'Weight in the Water' in 2018 which received great media reviews.

The first offering from the band 'All We Need' Ep was released in April of 2018 received media praise and was accompanied with a Far North Qld to NSW Tour:

Green Owl, Generate Festival, Bearded Lady, Folk club Townsville, X Base- Magnetic Island, House with No walls, Wallaby Creek Festival, Can you keep a secret, Port Panthers, The Rails Hotel- Byron, Black bear Lodge, Pacific Hotel- Yamba, Indo Kings & Tablelands Folk Festival.

What's next in 2019:

GPC are set to be building momentum throughout 2019 and currently scheduling new releases, live videos, collaborations and some touring for later in the year.
Reviews
The single is not shy of beautiful harmonies supported by a backbone of lyrical grunt. The violin and trumpet gives of a country like ballad preaching positivity and resilience. However the thing that we like most about this song is the rising energy that resonates till the very last note. It’s the perfect song for a little pick me up!"

"It took me all of 2 seconds to fall into Gentle Persons Club. I mean, even their name has an instantly amiable twee sensibility which sits around the bands ethereal, cacophonously uplifting sound. The band have taken that bewitching traditional Folk Rock sound and slapped a contemporarily stunning new face upon it.

Gentle Persons Club create an upliftingly magnetic sound that’s drenched in pure acoustic harmony. If there’s anyone I’d ever want to sit around a campfire with it’s definitely Gentle Persons Club".

"The album consists of five beautifully curated pieces. All contain their individual stories and own theme however all reflect back to the ephemeral world and its naturalistic habits on human’s and mother nature.

All we Need EP premiere (Brisbane Playlist 07/04/18)

Brisbane, Australia is home to the rootsy sensation Gentle Persons Club that has recently released their debut EP All We Need. It's a fresh take an alt country that has good vibes and sage words of wisdom at its core. The sound is earthy and very catchy. It revels in the greenery and bare hands approach that so may country musicians rely on. They also use specific instrument choices that make the songs pop out from the crowd.

A big player for this EP musically is the string element. That fiddle is a strong voice in every song and conveys such raw emotion that it is one of my favorite parts about the music. I love how the music is very traditional sounding most of the time and yet they attempt to transcend genres. I feel that track three "All We Need" is perhaps the best example of how they pushed for that alt rock/ indie sound and really managed to achieve it.

Another strong and endearing element for this EP is the vocals. The vocalist is blessed with handsome sounding pipes and delivers every word with such heavy conviction. Alongside the vocal work, the lyrics are fantastic. There were several songs where I went to back to listen again immediately just to properly digest the words. This is really where the album shines. There's sage words of wisdom, epic ballads being told and even casual observations about the bigger picture of life.
