Cornicula

JF Noël fait partie de la communauté musicale indépendante depuis 1990 dans la province de Québec, au Canada. Il a joué pour des groupes punkrock, hardcore, metal, doom, post-rock et post-metal tels que Selfish, Graygoo, Tereza, Ghast, N.B.E, Land of Nubia et récemment son projet solo Native Copper.

En vingt-cinq ans, il a enregistré onze « releases» (Vinyl/EP/Album) et il a joué en première partie de No Use for a Name, All, Blink 182, Hot Water Music, Mass Hysteria, Anonymus, Jucifer et plusieurs autres.

De 1996 à 2002, il a été propriétaire de la maison de disques indépendante Subvision Records. De plus, il a été producteur exécutif du groupe industriel métal de Montréal, Insurgent inc.

En avril 2015, JF Noël et la chanteuse Valérie Murray ont formé Cornicula. Valérie Murray est une artiste visuelle depuis plus de 25 ans. En 2010, elle a commencé à chanter et au fil des ans, elle a fait quelques concerts, développé son propre style et amélioré sa technique. Ses influences vocales proviennent des années 80 et 90, du grunge, du rock, du metal et d'artistes tels que Tori Amos, Björk et PJ Harvey.

Leur premier EP « On the Way » est disponible en CD et en téléchargement sur Bandcamp. Le lancement a eu lieu au Fou-Bar à Québec le 22 octobre 2016.

Cornicula a remporté les quarts de finale au concours Festival Emergenza le 3 février 2017 à La Source de la Martinière, à Québec. Ils ont participé aux demi-finales le 25 mars 2017 au Cercle, à Québec. Ils ont assuré la première partie du Joe Evil Piano Show avec Vincent Peake (Groovy Aardvark/Grimskunk/Floating Widget) le 13 mai 2017 à L'Anti Bar & Spectacles, à Québec.

Cet automne, Cornicula offrira une prestation au Sunrise Records Capitale et jouera à L'Anti Bar & Spectacles, à La Source de la Martinière et au Murdoch à Sherbrooke. Ils présenteront les chansons de leur EP « On the Way » ainsi que deux nouvelles chansons qui se retrouveront sur leur prochain album en 2018.

In 25 years, he has recorded 11 releases (Vinyl/EP/Album), participated in two Canadian/American tours and he has opened for No Use for a Name, All, Blink 182, Hot Water Music, Mass Hysteria, Anonymus, Jucifer and many more.

From 1996 to 2002, he was the owner of independent record company Subvision Records. Also, he was executive producer for Indust/Metal band from Montreal, Insurgent inc.

In April 2015, JF Noël and singer Valérie Murray formed Cornicula. Valérie Murray has been a visual artist for more than 25 years. In 2010, she started singing and over the years, she did a few live performances, developed her own style and improved her technique. Her vocal influences come from the 80's, 90's, grunge, rock, metal and artists such as Tori Amos, Björk and PJ Harvey.

Their first EP called ''On the Way'' is available now on CD and digital download on Bandcamp. It was launched at the Fou-Bar, Québec, on October 22, 2016.

Cornicula has won the quarter-final of the Emergenza Festival on February 3, 2017 at La Source de la Martinière, Québec. They played on March 25, 2017 for the semi-final at Le Cercle, Québec. They played with Joe Evil Piano Show and Vincent Peake (Groovy Aardvark/Grimskunk/Floating Widget) on May 13, 2017 at L'Anti Bar & Spectacles, Québec.

This Fall, Cornicula will be playing live at Sunrise Records Capitale, L'Anti Bar & Spectacles, La Source de la Martinière and Le Murdoch, their songs from the EP ''On the Way'' and 2 new songs that will be on their next album in 2018.
