About Kilroy Kobra

Life is an amazing art project; and just like artists themselves will tell you, "its never done".

Atlanta psych rock outfit, Kilroy Kobra, known for their eclectic, genre-bent art rock music - emotionally rip through their high energy performances with deeply, personal lyricism masked under groovy rhythms and vibes. After presented with the question, “What if there was a band for these songs,” vocalist and lead guitarist Tomas Uribe, formed the group in late December of 2015. Previous to there being a band, Tommy had an album's worth of music that he had written and recorded on his own for a personal achievement but with the encouragement of his friends and family, he was convinced that he needed a band to fulfill the vision of his songs. The band's multi-cultured, genre-bent style came out of Tommy's experiences of growing up internationally, ultimately developing a wide palette for music - although there was always an inclination to psych rock of all forms. Once there was band put together, the sound of Kilroy Kobra started to take its own shape.

The band started to rerecord Tommy's album at Nova-One Studio in Kennesaw, Georgia with producer/audio engineer Lorenzo Price and throughout the process, managed to recruit a 7 person band and released a teaser self-titled EP in early May 2016. After debuting performances around Atlanta and Tuscaloosa, Alabama - the band focused on finishing their debut album that was released independently in September 2016 as "Man of the World", along with perfectly synchronized music video to the album in its entirety named "Man of the World - A Visual Album" (released March 2017) written and directed by Zak Washburn.

Since their album release, they grew to a 10 person band who toured their debut album together. Due to monetary and logistic reasons, they do not tour currently as the full 10 person band. Most of the time, they are a 7 person group despite the fact people remember them by being a large 10 person band!

Since the movie release of their visual album, they have performed at many Southeastern cities from Alabama to North Carolina to Ohio back to Atlanta and music festivals like Candler Park Fall Fest, Sigh in July Music and Arts Festival, Adjust Your Eyes Music & Art Fest, Alphapalooza, and more. The band throughout Summer 2017, have been debuting new music written as a collective group.
