Our Night Out

Songwriting and storytelling have always been at the heart of Buster Shuffle. Their debut album, Our Night Out, found its stories in the everyday chaos of London life: late-night buses, boozy arguments, colourful characters and complicated romances. The band released it independently before its European reissue through People Like You Records in 2011.

Do Nothing (2012)

The second studio album, Do Nothing, followed in 2012, with contributions from Roddy Radiation of The Specials and Micky Gallagher of The Blockheads and The Clash.

Naked (2014)

The third studio album, Naked, arrived in 2014, continuing the band’s mix of melody, mischief and piano-powered energy.

I’ll Take What I Want (2017)

The fourth studio album, I’ll Take What I Want, followed in 2017 as Buster Shuffle continued to reach a growing audience.

On the road

Live shows have taken Buster Shuffle from London clubs to European festivals and American stages. Along the way, they have played with Madness and Chas & Dave, and toured alongside Flogging Molly, The Interrupters, Less Than Jake and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Appearances at Madness’s House of Fun Weekender and Punk Rock Bowling in Las Vegas reflect the different musical communities that have embraced the band.

2020: Unsung Heroes — the charity single

When touring stopped during the 2020 lockdown, Buster Shuffle brought musicians together remotely for the charity single Unsung Heroes. The project involved members of Die Toten Hosen and Rhoda Dakar, among others, and raised more than £3,000 for the World Health Organization. Later that year, the band revisited Our Night Out with an anniversary reissue on their own Do Nothing Records label.

Go Steady (2022)

The fifth studio album, Go Steady, arrived in 2022. Its sharp songwriting and infectious rhythms earned it a place in BrooklynVegan’s selection of 12 great ska and ska-punk albums of 2022. Busy festival seasons in 2023 and 2024 followed.

Together (2025)

In 2025, Buster Shuffle released their sixth studio album, Together, bringing the grit, melody and big choruses of their live shows to a new set of songs. The album reached number 14 on the UK Independent Albums Chart and number 34 on the Official German Albums Chart.

Music producer James Bragg worked closely with Jet Baker to produce Together. Their collaboration on the chart-successful album led to an invitation from Jet for James to join Buster Shuffle’s live lineup on guitar.

2026: Die Toten Hosen

In 2026, Jet Baker was invited to join German rock giants Die Toten Hosen as their touring keyboard player, performing to sold-out crowds at stadiums and open-air venues. He also contributed keyboards to multiple tracks during the recording of their final regular studio album, Trink aus, wir müssen gehen!, which reached number one on the Official German Albums Chart.

The collaboration also led to an invitation for Buster Shuffle to join Die Toten Hosen for three major outdoor shows in September 2026: Minden, Bayreuth and, to finish, Vienna’s Ernst-Happel-Stadion on 12 September.

The band’s catalogue is now on their own label, Do Nothing Records. From the early records to Together, the piano remains at the centre: punk spirit, ska movement, rock & roll swagger and songs made to be sung back.
