About Sheldoncole
“Why would I live with a broken heart, if I can live for love and love more?”
Singer/songwriter Sheldoncole hails from the Pacific Northwest, where he honed his musicianship as a child in a small town outside of Portland, Oregon and then later as a young adult in Vancouver, British Colombia. Influenced by artists such as Noah Gundersen, City & Colour, and Josh Garrels, Sheldoncole’s music is raw, intimate, and soulful; tackling those existential questions of love and heartbreak that artists have wrestled with through the ages.
Sheldoncole’s music is influenced by his propensity for movement, travel and desire for human connection. Initially sparked by his attempt to find his long lost relatives in Belarus, he busked across Europe, in search of a deeper connection to his family heritage. Afterwards, he returned to university where he was on track to become a lawyer. Later, longstanding curiosities led him to the Midwest, where he found refuge in Detroit, Michigan. The city, abandoned by so many, ultimately became the place that rekindled his passion for singing and songwriting. His stepping stone EP, Detroit, was recorded just outside of the city in the summer of 2016.
Following a fifty-three show tour across Canada, the United States, and Mexico during the summer of 2017, Sheldoncole spent his time between the Pacific Northwest and Mexico City where he set to work writing and recording his first full length album, expected to drop in early 2019.
Motivated by the allure of minimalism, financial freedom, and a nomadic lifestyle, Sheldoncole now resides in Los Angeles, where he has converted his Mazda MPV into a tiny home.
