Olivier Court - Pianist, Arranger, Composer and band leader - Olivier Court, Pianist, Arranger, Composer and Soul'D Out NYC music director - Olivier was born in Paris, France. He grew up in a musical environment, encouraged by his father, a music lover and amateur classical guitar player. At the age of 8, Olivier started studying classical piano and quickly showed curiosity and privileged skills in music. At the age of 14, he discovered Jazz, Rock and Soul music and started to play in local bands. After graduating from high school, he formed his first jazz fusion band, 'Central Emergency', and started to perform in the Parisian area. The band eventually won a composition price at a European jazz schools Contest in 2006. While graduating in Sound Engineering at the International Institute of Sound (ESRA group - Paris), Olivier pursued his musical studies and gained a Jazz performance degree from a local music conservatory in 2009. In the meantime, he worked as a free lance jazz musician, performing in Parisian clubs, teaching piano and theory in a music school. In 2011, Olivier Court settled in Harlem, New York, to experience the intense creativeness of the city. He then enrolled for classes at City College in Harlem and is graduating in 2016 with a BFA in Jazz Performance.
