About Kon Kan

Kon Kan was founded and owned by Barry Harris (vocals, keyboards, guitar, songwriting, producer) in Toronto, Ontario spring of 1988. His debut album, Move to Move (1989), produced the international hit single "I Beg Your Pardon" which sampled Lynn Anderson's "I Never Promised You A) Rose Garden".

From the same album, he returned to the charts with another original/cover combination, "Puss N' Boots/These Boots (Are Made For Walkin') ". The track included interpolation snippets of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" and Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'". Another single, "Harry Houdini" failed to chart in America, but scored a Top 40 placing in Canada & South America. “Liberty!” From Harris’ 2nd Kon Kan LP charted well in South America

Harris continued Kon Kan with the next L.P. "Syntonic" with the single "Liberty" placing well in South America. L.P. #3 "Vida" with "Sinful Wishes" also fared well in Canada. Harris later reproduced "Sinful Wishes" with singer Kimberley Wetmore which did well under the band name Outta Control, another studio production he teamed up with this time with Rachid Wehbi.
Harris later went on to form Thunderpuss (a dj/producing/remixing duo) with Chris Cox. Together from 1998 - 2005 they scored more than 30 #1's with remixes by Whitney Houston "It's Not Right, But It's OK", Madonna, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Donna Summer, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, P!nk, Mary J Blige to name a few.
Never venturing far from his Kon Kan roots Harris returns to the spotlight with the new Kon Kan touring Band 2024 coming soon to a town near YOU!
