The concert was a good time but the sound was atrocious. At least, for those of us with hables in the front, it was really bad. The opening acts were very good, especially Andy Montañez! However, Bobby Valentin’s band was disappointing. The big legendary hits were not played (at least in the first 10 songs, which is when we left.) All in all, enjoyed the event though, since the atmosphere was good.

The Best of the best Salsa concert ever perfomed in the washington DC area. This is a Fania Record Legend; pioner who help expand Salsa to the world.

About Bobby Valentín
Este puertorriqueño nacido en 1941 aprendió guitarra antes de entrar en la escuela primaria, enseñado por su padre, y a los 11 años ganó un concurso con una banda dirigida por él. En esta época comienza a estudiar saxo alto y trompeta en la Academia de Música Jose Quinton. A los 15 años se muda con su familia a New York, donde continuó estudiando trompeta, tanto en su escuela como con el legendario Carmine Caruso. También por esta época es que forma una banda, "Los Satélites", con Chu Hernández y Joe Quijano. En 1958 comienza su carrera como músico profesional al entrar en la nueva orquesta de Quijano.
