About Contraband
Contraband began in August 2009. Since then, they have developed a unique fusion of Ska and Reggae reminiscent of the Skatalites with explorations into Afrobeat and Jazz. In 2013 Contraband released their EP, Get It, before embarking their first tour of the southwest, going through California, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico that summer. They returned to Santa Fe in early November after receiving high praise for their performance over the summer. In 2014 and 2015, the band continued to tour as they developed new material, which they plan to record as a full length in 2016. Colorado AfroSka. We cultivate mating displays.
