About Sister Gray
*Adam Thompson, Music Director, Sonic 102.9 Edmonton, AB "They produced an EP (Close The Night EP) that was accessible, refreshing and interesting. This is a difficult combination to achieve. The single we played on SONiC (Close The Night) was very popular, and I’m very anxious to hear what else they plan on releasing." *Chosen for See Magazine's Best of Edmonton Issue as 'Edmonton's Best Hidden Gem' 2011. One powerful female musician surging with angst and inspiration is often enough for a band to have material for decades. Sister Gray has two such women…and they are sisters, for better or worse. The two are opposing forces; Jenesse reminiscent of Joan Jett rocking a MOOG synth while Brittany wails like the great Ann Wilson. They create a chemistry on stage that is electric and raw. The past few years have been incredible for Sister Gray. Having opened for many great Canadian bands including Mother Mother at MacEwan's Fall Fest, USS at the Dinwoodie Lounge, Die Mannequin, and Sweet Thing. Also, finishing off a western canadian tour in 2011 with a headlining spot at North Country Fair's MainStage. March 2013 the band is releasing their follow-up EP, Analog Truth. Sister Gray creates a new edge to their sound and more of a live, raw feel which they feel holds true to their live show. Close the Night, Sister Gray's first EP was self-released, and with the help of talented producer/engineer Stew Kirkwood from Sound Extractor Studios, their vision came to life. The sisters poured their blood, sweat and many tears into the lyrics and melodies of every song. The boys in the band also poured their talents into the EP: Kurtis Schultz bringing strong direction and drive with his beats, Ajay Patterson laying down his great melodic ideas and Mike Morrisseau adding the ballsy guitar that every rock band needs. The result is a show that is gutsy and brutally honest. *******NEW OFFICAL VIDEO FOR "BURN THIS DISCO" OUT NOW!
