Chance York - Slim

Chance York (Slim Chance) is a Minneapolis-born writer, and emcee. Work with his bands, Crunchy Kids and Eric Mayson's Detail, brought much attention to Chance as he launched as a solo act. He first released the "Fed and Famished EP", in April 2016, that spurred an abundance of local and regional shows, including opening for Chance the Rapper, DRAM, Saba, Chester Watson and more. "Highest Self,” released in December 2016. Chance tapped celebrated Minneapolis producer, Big Cats! to create this project that embodied a full-on effort to shine a little light into the darkness during uncertain times. The lyrics are stacked with compassion, unity, and self-acceptance, on top of a foundation of heavy low-end and rapid hi hats. Chance is a standout figure in the Minneapolis music community, a rapper with dynamic lyricism in a variety of capacities. His lyrics have been described as deeply personal yet universal. There's a radiant positivity with no attempt to ignore the gloom. Chance kicked off 2017 with a freestyle collab set with EDM producer, Beak Nasty, opening for Tipper, at the enormous Snowta NYE celebration in Minneapolis.
