Within Temptation

They were absolutely fantastic and what a great venue to see them at Max Watts is not huge by any stretch of the imagination but the atmosphere was incredible. You wouldn't think Within Temptation had been touring all over the world recently as their performance was fresh,vibrant and it could have been the start of the tour not near the end,l reckon they played about 17 songs and they were a great cross section of their career, obviously they couldn't play every single one of the crowd favourites as they would be playing for hours and hours. I can guarantee if you ever get the chance to see them you will not be disappointed. Cheers Tony

Never would I have thought I’d get to see Within Temptation and even less so at a venue as “intimate” as Max Watt's House of Music but, lo and behold, I feel like it was the greatest blessing ever! Some might say I missed out by not being on the floor but being upstairs I was afforded an incredible and uninterrupted view of the stage and certainly have no complaints. Staff and security need also be commended for handling a full house that essentially descended upon them en masse in an area of the city that isn't particularly suited for a snaking queue.

It was an incredible experience. From the start to the end they offered an amazing show. Sharon's voice is so beautiful and angelical that charmed all the fans in the venue. I can't wait to see them again in Spain.

Very nice venue, easy to find and park, very good sound, 5000 spectators seated and standing. Blind 8 as first opener, nice metalcore band from Ukraine, but I did not fall in love with them. I basically went to the gig for Annisokay, the second opener (also a metalcore band) so I was frustrated they only played 30-35 minutes. And of course Within Temptation, a great symphonic metal band, gave a wonderful concert. Guests Tarja Turunen and Alex Yarmak sang a few songs with WT. Fortunately the acoustics of the venue being very good, we could fully appreciate the musicianship, as well as the vocals. All in all, was a great night.

Super awesome visuals and show. I got lucky where my seat had obstructed view so they allowed me to swap to standing, led to perfect view for all the experience. Really liked their option to buy the recordings from the show / seem very fan focused merch too.

Thank you too all the within temptation membres, crew, technicien, tour manager (who was very professionnal with us for the VIP experience). Tears, cry, scream from me all the show. I've view many concert and festival but this concert will be forever in my soul, in my body. Thank you everybody ❤️ Within Temptation ❤️ Great things for future and if you Come back to Toulouse I will Come Back again for you ❤️ I send you force for the of your Bleed Out Tour !

The show was quite short, just 17 songs (1,5h of show). I wish they played more, bands nowadays play at least 22-24 songs. I wish they played more of old songs and have a better stage decoration. It was blocking the sight from sides. The acoustics could also be a little better, but it wasn't bad. I was so happy to see Tarja as guest (why couldn't she be the support?)

Sharon was absolutely amazing, the sound was also good. However, unfortunately I was disappointed because the atmosphere was not good. The rest of the band was rather static and not very enthusiastic and so was the crowd. They did not sing along, move or headbang. They even failed to sing along the melody of Mother Earth, when Sharon engaged them. Felt like they did not know the band :(

Fantastic, great band, excellent audio in the Black Berry Auditorium, but the quality of the show was wonderful, energy, great sound, great vocals, and even the milk band did their bit to make the show a success. hopefully it won't be too long before they come back. thanks Within Temptation, and I'll copy Sharon's look.

I really enjoyed the show, they played most of their biggest hits. Sadly, the concert was quite short, I wish there were more than 20 songs played and with some louder, more intense music and more spectacular effects. Sharon sings great!

After more than 2 years of waiting due to COVID, Within temptation offered us a great performance as usual in a sold out concert. Sharon demonstrated as usual that she has an extraordinary voice on stage. She is one of the best metal symphonic singer in the world. We hope that this fantastic band will come back to Paris very soon.

Had a great time at the show, from beginning till ending. Smash into pieces sounded amazing, Evanescence was amazing and I loved it when Sharon came out for a small part of the song. When Within Temptation came on the crowd went absolutely wild and so did I. Can't wait to see all again!

It started of with much better sound stage in comparison to Evanescence performance. First few songs sounded great - could clearly hear vocals, different drums and guitar riffs. However it started degrading and got to the same poor quality of bass rattling and drowning all other instruments and vocals by the end of the show. At least sound wasn't constantly cutting out like during Evanescence performance

The support band was great, within temptation was amazing but I could hardly hear Amy Lee sing I think the bass was to high but I still had fun, my last gig was nearly 4 years ago

Sharon seems to have worked quite a bit on her voice, she was singing exceptionally well and even better than on the records. The song selection was not a play it safe affair, kudos to that. However, the sequence of and the pauses between songs were rather inexplicable to me. I felt that he show could have been more immersive with little effort: tie things together a bit more, rethink the "story arc" of the evening, bring out more drama by reordering the songs. But it was a very good show and I'm glad I went.

The Concert was the best night of my life.Within Temptation were totally amazing and Sharon was totally mesmerising her vocals I cannot give her enough praise for to say what hell she’s been through in her personal life she was totally awesome I can’t praise her enough,every song came from her heart and soul I saw them a few times ago and her voice was beautifully powerful better than ever the show wasn’t packed with amazing stage props or effects the only effect was an L C D screen at the Back they showed various video clips most from the promo videos and a few more clips relevant to the songs.2 songs made me cry and at the end I broke down with emotion as the song Stairway To The Skies was performed with Sharon wearing a short beautiful white dress with a long white veil draped to the floor and as she was lifted up in a harness she never faltered in voice abs the White veil draped beautifully and it was so romantic to sum things up I can’t give enough marks as it would be so unfair. Go and see them I’m begging you

Support act Ego Kill Talent were pretty good. I think I might have had more of an impression of their actual music if they hadn't been a bit too high in terms of volume - I couldn't hear a word of their lyrics and very little of what the band members said to the audience without putting in my earplugs, that's how overmiked it wound up. Bit sad about that because I really think I might like their music if I explore a bit more of it at a lower volume. ;) The band came out to stage door afterwards and were happy to chat with those of us who were there, and I'm told they also spent some time at the merch desk immediately following their set. (The overmiking and the issues it created in hearing the band knock half a star off my full rating here.) Fantastic set from Within Temptation. Their choreography, stage show and sound engineering have all taken a noticeable step up since their previous show at this venue four years ago. Sharon's live vocal technique has improved greatly over those few years, too. Not a single cracked note, not even one approaching it; she seems to have adopted Cristina Scabbia's usual way of handling high notes live, in that she now adjusts the melody to something she knows she can do while actively jumping around the stage, rather than trying for the high or sustained note that might be on record but that would cause her some trouble while performing live in such an active stage show. As most people know, it gets harder for the majority of singers to hit their highest early notes as their voices age, and that's natural. It made me really pleased to see Sharon finding her own way to cope with that, and succeeding so well. The show in general was brilliant: the set list was a blend of several new songs from the upcoming album "Resist", with songs from previous albums thrown in—some from as far back as "Mother Earth"—including "Stand My Ground", "Faster", "The Promise" and "Stairway To The Skies" among the lot, with many of their most popular tracks included in the full set. A little sad that maybe half the audience recognised "The Promise" enough to sing along with it, but at least those of us who *have* been fans for long enough were in there and loving it, and the whole crowd was involved when it came to "Paradise", with Tarja's vocals featured by way of the screen onstage in the same way Keith Caputo's were included for "What Have You Done". The merch desk had a good variety of items, though sadly lacking in variation when it came to the designs of the available shirts - I met several people who bought shirts from the bootleggers outside mostly because they liked those designs better... but also because they were a great deal less expensive. Unfortunately, the official merch was painfully overpriced for the most part. Outside you could get two hoodies for £35. Inside, just one cost £60. I will never pay £60 for a hoodie. I couldn't afford that even if I wanted to, and the design quality sadly didn't merit it either. The last band hoodie I bought cost £30, and that was Lacuna Coil, who have an even bigger fanbase than Within Temptation. £60... Well, it just can't be justified. And that's where this gig gets knocked down by another half star. Did stage door afterwards too, and Jeroen van Veen stayed out there with the small crowd who remained for quite some time, chatting and joking with us all, taking selfies and signing autographs. Most of the other band members came out and did the latter for at least a little while, and we hung around until Sharon left us to board their tour bus at around 01.30. All in all a great night!

Great show and a fantastic powerful Sharon. The music was heavier than I expected - which I liked. But I must admit, that the new songs are not so exciting to me. the performance of the old ones was great, but I must say, that the sound was not good, especially the bass was to dominant.

Good Show. But could not reach the standard of the unforgiving-show. the videowall was almost hidden behind those hydra-dragons and the actual songs did not really catch the audience. waiting for a better cd and better concerts in the future.
