About Gahlord Dewald

Gahlord Dewald is a musician specializing in acoustic, electric, and synthetic bass frequencies.

He studied with Paul Ousley, Salvatore Macchia, and most recently with Dr. Mark Morton. In addition, Dewald worked for a summer with Petya Bagovska at the National Music Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria.

He’s deeply embedded in the “unusual music” scene of Burlington, Vermont: a founding member and music director for the Viva La Voce Puppet Opera arranging and leading an ad hoc orchestra, bassist in acclaimed post-rock trio Charles, Dead or Alive?, experimental soul band the le duo, jazzish quintet Made by Robots, and he served under Brett Lanier as part of a two-musician pit for the Prague Fringe Festival run of Caberet Guignol.

He has performed with Raphé Malik, Ben Karetnick, Scott Houghton, and Peter Serkin. Dewald performed at Carnegie Hall when he was 17.
