About Roundheels

Roundheels create “some of the most aggressive dirty-garage-dance-antidance-Stones-Stooges rock you’ll hear.” But even as Roundheels celebrate the release of their first EP on Tension/Release Records, "Phonocology", audiences are forewarned that the studio recordings give only a hint of the raw energy and feral intensity of a live Roundheels performance – as fans lucky enough to have caught the band on their June 2013 Midwest tour can attest. Based out of St. Louis, Missouri, Roundheels have been tearing it up since 2009. Their “loud, gnarly solos,” “thermonuclear drums” and “howler on vocals” has critics comparing them to Iggy and the Stooges and the Libertines. Roundheels combine a gritty garage sensibility with the thunderous sound of 70’s hard rock and a tip of the hat to modern influences like Cage The Elephant and Arctic Monkeys. "Phonocology" was released in August 2013 to digital distribution on iTunes and Spotify, among others. Tracks from the EP will appear in rotation on Pandora and Sirius X/M by November 2013, and brick-and-mortar distribution of vinyl and CDs will launch in conjunction with the band’s February 2014 southern U.S. tour. High-energy garage rock out of St. Louis, MO
