About Rebecca Rhosyn
Beckie is a 26 year old singer and pianist, and has been involved with music for a majority of her life. Born in Nottingham, she engaged with music from a very early age – her mother is a huge fan of music and Beckie grew up listening to many different genres of music.

Beckie began her music tuition at the age of 5 when she joined her Infant school’s Recorder class, giving her the basics in music theory. She carried on learning the Recorder until she was mid-way through Junior school. After this she began to learn the Violin from the age of 10 until she was 13, however she ultimately regrets not continuing with this instrument. From 14 she learnt the basics for the Keyboard, and then switched her studies shortly afterwards to the Piano. She is currently working towards her Grade 5 exam in Piano and gained her Grade 8 in Vocals in 2013.

She has been an avid singer all of her life and has always dreamt of being on the stage. She has a lot of experience of performing – from performing ballet shows as a child through to public performances as part of her university studies. Beckie began singing in public from the age of 14 at her school concerts and for part of her GCSE in Music.

Beckie has studied for a degree in BA (Hons) Popular Music with Music Technology at the University of Derby. She has enjoyed every aspect of the course and feels that it has greatly improved her musicianship and songwriting skills. Beckie also completed an extra year at university undertaking the Technology Foundation Programme at the University of Derby, studying various topics such as Electronics, Physics, Film and ICT.

Beckie listens to a very wide range of music – from classical to heavy metal to dubstep! In her spare time she likes to read, ice skate and go to concerts. She is looking forward to life after university, in the hope to build up a successful music tuition business and gain an excellent reputation as a professional musician.
