About The Modern Strangers
The Modern Strangers are a 5 piece Indie-Disco band from Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Fronted by brothers Max & Archie Davenport, they first sprang to life in the summer of 2016 off the back of debut single Vanilla which earned them early support from BBC Introducing in Kent and BBC Radio 1. They’ve since spent their 2017 releasing seminal singles Hot Rain, Margarita and Coco Hello in the midst of a rather busy summer full of festival slots.
The Modern Strangers take pop music, discard anything falling below the standard levels of sass, and smash fun and class into whatever is left. In fact, they’re scientifically proven to be excellent purveyors of pop music – following a BBC documentary broadcast last year, a computer algorithm designed to per-determine what music is most popular allocated them first (and fourth) position out of 17,500 tracks.
They’ve been featured on Made in Chelsea, landed numerous Spotify playlists in addition to charting in the UK Viral 50 and keep going strength to strength Live-wise, they’ve seen action ranging from their own headline shows to gracing the stages of major UK festivals such as Big Weekend 2017, playing alongside Katy Perry
2018 sees new music very soon, already booked for an NME Awards show and a very busy, soon to be announced run of shows.
