About Hawkeye Reis
Combining traditional blues one-man-one-guitar intimacy with the intensity of pop-punk lyrics, Hawkeye Reis is no stranger to the collision of two worlds. Born to a Turkish father and an Australian mother in Sydney, Australia, Reis’ third independent album “Satisfsctory” is an in-depth study of fence-sitting, a scrutiny of never being enough for either side.
Reis’ music lyrically draws on the likes of modern pop-punk such as Neck Deep, All Time Low, blink-182, Green Day, The Offspring, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, The Story So Far and Stand Atlantic while taking a traditionally acoustic, stripped back route as seen in artists such as Dashboard Confessional, Little Brother, Stella Donnelly, Cory Wells, Front Porch Step, SayWeCanFly, This Wild Life, Mayday Parade and the minimalist recordings on Fearless Records’ Punk Goes Acoustic and MTV Unplugged. Reis roots his chord structure and riffs in early blues artists, paying homage to the early bluesmen of the 20th century: Robert Johnson, Albert King, Muddy Waters and their contemporary Stevie Ray Vaughan, adding a sonic and emotional depth to his work.
He has released two earlier works, a full length album in 2018 called "The Following Side Effects Are Common" and an EP in 2016 entitled "Sorry, Charlie".
