Since its formation in late 2012 by friends Holden Blue and Dylan Cooper, Von Jumbo has made waves in the Saskatoon rock scene. The loud and unpredictable performance of this jam band creates an atmosphere relatable to rock and roll performances such as Deep Purple and Clutch, but allows the listener to enter the stories that drummer and singer, Dylan Cooper, manifests. Guitarist Holden Blue along with bassist Mike Roy produce a blistering, hard-hitting wall of sound in every song that birth a new entity every performance, and the unforgettable Erinn Blue performs powerful rock-organ melodies through her unsettling calmness. With notable performances with bands such as Vancouver BC’s heavy fuzz rockers We Hunt Buffalo, Calgary’s The Dudes, Ian Blurton’s current Toronto based band Public Animal (among others), as well as an appearance at Saskatoon community radio CFCR’s funding drive FM-Phasis, and a two time appearance at Saskatoon’s Moso Fest, the band provides proof that if rock and roll is dead, it does not go silently into the night.
