About Lighthart
Lighthart is an indie-pop band from Nashville, TN. Led by songwriters Francy Goudreault and Julia Appleton, Lighthart works to unite people with their timeless music. Their warm sound draws influence from Bryan Adams, Ingrid Michaelson and Drew Holcomb.
In October 2016, Lighthart released “Looking for the Light." The debut EP received positive reviews. "Enough" - the inspiring first single - is currently enjoying radio play across Canada.
“It's a nice change of pace to do music together,” explains Appleton. “Francy was in a band for 10 years and I’ve always done solo stuff. But our mutual love for music was part of the reason we got together.” The songwriters, who are also married, declare community as a huge part of Lighthart’s mission. “The best shows I’ve been to are the shows where the artists reach into your heart and say 'We’re in this together!"
Goudreault adds, “There’s a lot of music out there that’s designed to help us cope. But I like to think Lighthart can inspire, help people overcome.” Appleton adds: “–and not just cope.”
That vision is already coming to fruition. Fans have described Lighthart’s music as “as nurturing as talking to a good friend over coffee.” One fan said “I ended up cry-singing in my car.” When new music does that, you know it’s the good stuff.
When playing live, many bands are content to just play a string of songs. Instead, Lighthart delivers a lively & captivating show. Every time. As one fan described it: “You’re encouraged to love yourself, love others, and keep moving forward!"
2017 will see the band release a series of singles. These will culminate in the release of an LP in Summer 2017. The band is actively booking this Spring and Summer across Canada and USA.
