Great show from Paul and his band, rock solid rhythm section, a master of the keyboards and in Gareth Cole an axe slinger easily on a par with anybody, and carried over Mike Holmes’ guitar lines with sensitivity and aplomb (I only noticed two errors and he turned it around wonderfully. I was expecting Paul to have problems with some of the higher notes of his youth (the IQ songs were 35 years old) but hem managed superbly. All in all a fine gig missed by so many Prog rock fans in Sheffield.

Paul Menel And The Essentials are a progressive rock band formed by the former vocalist from IQ between 1985 and 1989.
Paul featured on the two most successful IQ albums during his tenure with the band these are "Nozamo" and "Are you sitting comfortably?"
2022 Marks the 35th anniversary of the release of "Nozamo" and Paul and his band will be performing tracks from their latest album " Spare Parts For Broken Hearts", alongside "Nozamo" in its entirety ( Headlining shows only). They will also be playing tracks from some of Paul's other solo material, plus other IQ Classics
