About Danielle Hicks and the Resistance
Soul-shaking siren Danielle Hicks is winning audiences with a voice just like Honey. As a songwriter, vocalist, and band leader, this Georgia-born triple-threat is ready to share her debut album with fans of rock ‘n’ roll, blues, soul, and Americana alike.
Honey was recorded with legendary producer and seven-time GRAMMY winner Jim Scott (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Tedeschi Trucks Band) at PLYRZ Studios in California. Over the course of ten tracks, Hicks shares her musical story, blending relatable lyricism with vibrant arrangements fleshed out by acclaimed players.
In addition to guitarist Ben Keiser, Hicks’ right-hand man in her band The Resistance, keyboardist John Ginty (Santana, Robert Randolph and the Family Band), keyboardist Chris Joyner (Heart, Amos Lee), drummer Jimmy Paxson (Beyoncé, Stevie Nicks, the Dixie Chicks), bassist Jesse Ingals (Ben Harper and The Relentless 7), and drummer Alan Hertz (Garaj Mahal, Eric McFadden) helped bring Honey to life. The result is a boldly fearless album flush with energy, warmth, and Hicks’ palpable charisma.
Hicks and The Resistance look forward to performing album cuts like house rocker “Hidden Treasure,” “Life is Sweeter,” and “Wide Open” for audiences throughout the country. New fans: Get ready to rock, dance, and be entranced by Hicks and The Resistance’s contagiously positive spirit, seasoned chops, and irresistible grooves.
