About Fort Frances

Do the years feel like they’re racing by you in a blur? Do you find yourself looking in the mirror and wondering, “where did the me of yesterday go?” Are you totally terrified of the future?

If you answered yes to these questions, welcome to the party. The guys in Fort Frances feel the same way.

“We’ve been playing together for nearly 20 years,” Aaron Kiser, drummer and owner of the largest beard in the band, says. “That makes me feel really old.”

“We thought about just breaking up to avoid actually hitting the two-decade milestone,” David McMillin, lead singer and Midwestern guy who has been writing about the end of the world since around 2008, says. “But honestly, this band gives us a good break from a lot of the responsibilities we have at home.”

Rather than stopping the band, the two decided to record new album titled “We Will Stop Time.” Celebrate your birthday with the waltz anthem of “Burn This House Down” (a reminder that flowers in your window will die fairly quickly), give up on thinking about getting ahead with the footstomping crunch of “Goodbye to the Hard Times” and learn to laugh at the thought of holding on to anything with “Let Everything Go.” The 10-song collection holds a middle finger to all the hours, weeks and months that you’ll never get back.
