About HiFi DriveBy

After years of touring and playing in different bands across the Southeast, Alec Strickland (Guitar/Vocals), Micah Messamore (Guitar), Travis Carico (Bass), and Sam Day (Keyboard/Samples/Vocals) all found a mutual adoration in well constructed songs with driving rhythms and solid pop rock hooks. Alec, Travis, and Micah had played in various rock bands together before coming across now keyboardist, Sam Day, in Orlando, FL while on tour. “Sonically we were just on all the same page and it definitely clicked right off the bat” remembers Alec. “After a little time and a lot of thinking we decided we had something that we felt was really special and decided to take it to the next step” The band transplanted from their homes in East Tennessee, Florida, and Texas to reconvene in Nashville, TN with hopes of capturing the attitude and raw energy of the songs they had started laying out. Upon their arrival in Nashville, the guys locked themselves in their home studio and began laying the foundation of what would become their debut EP. After wrestling with a number of band names, they came across the name HiFi Driveby. “We felt like the name really captured the essence of what we were trying to portray, really catchy and in your face, but keeping it sonically unique and intense at the same time.” The guys worked long and hard on writing structuring out songs that would connect to their audience on not only a musical level, but transcend the music with lyrical content that would drive the point home and let the listener know that despite the inevitable struggles in life that “Everything’s Gonna Be Fine”. The result is an EP that is brimming with energy and youthful charisma. Songs like “Life and Death (Goin for Broke)” and “Your Life Is Know” carry an all out anthem of hope while songs like “Party with Me (Shake it on the Floor)” captures the night out on the town with your friends. The band has been building quite a buzz, connecting with audiences and building momentum by the day. “We’re really encouraged and humbled with how well we’ve been received. It’s really a blessing and we’re looking forward to what our future will bring.”

This is the beginning of a long and exciting road ahead for HiFi Driveby. And they certainly wouldn’t have it any other way.
