Kim Greenwood

Already a decade has gone by since Kim started playing live at 18 years old with his big brother Joé and their band GREENWOOD. Since then, he's had the opportunity to play blistering psychedelic guitar solos at more than a hundred venues and festivals throughout Québec, such as the famous Montreal International Jazz Festival (thrice) and Tremblant Int. Blues Festival, opening shows for Philip Sayce, Bran Van 3000, Éric Lapointe, Offenbach and Steve Hill, to name a few. He's also played on many records, including Maple Blues Awards "Best Female Singer" Angel Forrest's brand new Angel's 11, showcasing 11 canadian guitarists. In 2010, he then started freelancing when prompted by artists such as Layla Zoe (Germany), Elizabeth Blouin-Brathwaite, Angel Forrest, Gardy Fury, and doing so met countless other working musicians. Seriously starting to sing in 2012, his longtime dream of fronting his very own band grew only stronger. Thus, after ten years of continuously standing out as a young talented guitar slinger, the time has finally come to step up as his own man. Featuring a dedicated and solid rhythm section with Fabienne Gilbert on bass and Benjamin Garant on drums, the trio is already writing for their upcoming EP.

Déjà une décennie s'est écoulée depuis que Kim fit ses premiers spectacles à 18 ans avec son grand frère Joé et leur groupe GREENWOOD. Depuis cette époque, il eût l'opportunité de faire rugir sa guitare aux sons psychédéliques à plus d'une centaine de salles de spectacles et festivals au Québec, notamment le renommé Festival de Jazz International de Montréal (3 fois) et le Festival Int. du Blues de Tremblant, cummulant des premières parties pour Philip Sayce, Bran Van 3000, Éric Lapointe, Offenbach et Steve Hill, entre autres. Il figura également sur quatre albums, dont le plus récent «Angel's 11» d'Angel Forrest (Chanteuse de l'année – Maple Blues Awards) sur lequel 11 guitaristes canadiens furent privilégiés. En 2010, toujours plus en demande, il se mit à travailler à la pige, accompagnant des artistes tels que Layla Zoe (Allemagne), Elizabeth Blouin-Brathwaite, Angel Forrest, Gardy Fury et par le fait même rencontra multiples musiciens professionnels. S'attaquant sérieusement au chant en 2012, son rêve d'un jour diriger son propre groupe ne devint que plus fort. Ainsi, après dix années à se démarquer continuellement comme jeune guitariste talentueux et flamboyant, le temps est enfin venu de s'afficher comme auteur-compositeur-interprète à part entière. Doté d'une section rythmique solide et expérimentée avec Fabienne Gilbert à la basse et Benjamin Garant à la batterie, le trio compose déjà pour un EP à venir.
