About North Of Mason-Dixon (NOMaD)

North Of Mason Dixon, aka NOMaD, broke on to the country scene in 2005 after placing as runner up in the highly publicized, Colgate Country Showdown; Since then, this high energy act brings there rock roots to the stage all over the country.
NOMaD released their debut CD "Born and Raised" charting with their first two singles “North of Mason-Dixon”(#78) and “Meet Me at Midnight”(#82). Following this release, the band was chosen as Kenny Chesneys ‘Next Big Star’ and shared the stage at Heinz Field with Chesney, Keith Urban, Gary Allen, Luke Bryan and Leann Rimes. Leading up to their sophomore release, NOMaD signed a 6 month deal as the house band on the ‘Main Stage’ venue at Ballys Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. After this run and a few line up changes, the band released their ‘Self Titled’ album in early 2012. NOMaD released the first single ‘American Boy’ to rousing success. Setting the tone for the rest of the album, American Boy charted in the top 100 in the US, and had international success charting as high as #2 on the ECMA Charts in England, and #6 in Finland. Oct. 2012, NOMaD is voted and selected as the National Mello Yello "One Track Find" Competition Grand Prize winners after a four month, five phase online competition, composed of two voting phases, two judging phases, and one video shoot phase that ended up being used in the final voting phase of the five finalists. The Grand Prize consisted of sizeable monetary prize and future use of their music for Mello Yello products. Capitalizing off of the ‘One Track Find’ success, NOMaD has been featured and performed on nationally syndicated radio shows and featured in numerous news articles and chosen as the “Next Big Thing” by Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Most recently in fall 2014, NOMaD was announced the Buffalo Trace Bourbon 'Battle of the Bands' Grand Prize winner and Country Genre winner of the Fiat 'BandPrix' Band competition.
NOMaD is an innovative band combining infectious lyrics and melodies with the energy, passion, and ambition that promise to carry them far beyond the Mason-Dixon line and solidify them a spot in the music industry of the future.
Selected to perform at the CMA Music Festival in recent years, NOMaD as opened for or supported over 100 national artists including Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith, Big & Rich, Craig Morgan, Little Big Town, George Jones, Joe Nichols, Neal McCoy, Van Zant, Gary Allan, Jimmy Wayne, Jake Owen, Luke Bryan, Sara Evans, Rissi Palmer, David Allen Coe, The Lost Trailers, Lee Ann Womack, and many more.
Touring regularly throughout the year including regular trips to Nashville, and popular tourist destinations Ocean City, MD, Myrtle Beach, SC, Rehoboth Beach, DE, and others such as the Pocono's and regional fairs and festivals. The band has built relationships with major sports organizations incl. Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Pirates, University Of Pittsburgh, Wilkes-Barre Penguins, Steubenville Stampede, and more.
Works with many charitable organizations incl. Country Cares For Cops, Fallen Not Forgotten, Relay For Life, From Alex With Love, Rockin' Country Cares, Autism Speaks, Aiden's Army and many private causes.
