About A Dead Desire

Started by Moroni Silva, and formerly known as Subtle Sound, A Dead Desire became the band name after Moroni, who had been addicted to heroin, sought help to overcome his addiction for narcotics and researched and experienced his first Ayahuasca ceremony in April of 2015. During the experience, he saw a corpse lying right beside him, decomposing. Upon further examination he realized that his intention to rid himself of the addiction had manifested itself in the form of a dead Moroni lying next to him. A few moments had passed when he realized he had been seeing two perceptions of the body at the same time, his addiction to narcotics dying, as well as the result of what would happen if he ever decided to use again. That is the main and only part of the experience needed at this time to explain and define the meaning of A Dead Desire. Upon hearing the story, the name of the band begins to take form, as the reader understands that the Desire to use is completely Dead.
Since then, the band has produced a few songs promoting addiction recovery, the main song being "I'm Changing, I'm Becoming." The first part of the song was written while addicted to heroin and frustration set in, then the writing stopped. After the first ceremony, Moroni reviewed the older material, and revived it by changing the intention of the song and adding an ending that explains the benefits and freedoms of being free from narcotics. The emotions of both experiences mold the song into what it is. As of now there is only one member of the band. Moroni Silva (guitarist, songwriter and vocalist).
