About The Unquiet Void

The Unquiet Void is the electronic alter ego of Jason Wallach. Since 1989, he has created a unique style of synthesized ambiance that stirs the soul and stimulates the mind.

Working as a one-man electronic orchestra, Jason composes pieces of celestial ambiance. He has honed his stylings on numerous compilations, usually paying tribute to those artists that had influenced him over his decade long musical career. Covers of David Bowie, Lycia and Black Tape for a Blue Girl as well as original compositions have gained The Unquiet Void an international following of ethereal and ambient music fans.

On the strength of these songs Jason is sought after for soundtrack work and has scored the independent film Scorpio from Phantom Productions. Scorpio is the first full length CD from The Unquiet Void. He continues to score films in addition to TUV.

His second record, Between the Twilights, released by Middle Pillar Presents, is a representation of his dreams in audio form – from evening to morning twilight – hence the CD's title. Between the Twilights sweeps the listener up with swirls of ethereal soundscapes that subliminally enters the unconsciousness – an ascent into celestial ambiance.

The Unquiet Void's third album is Poisoned Dreams. An original score based upon the "Cthulhu mythos" of late horror fiction maestro H. P. Lovecraft, specifically the stories Dagon, Call of Cthulhu and The Shadow Over Innsmouth, this release is the first installment of a trilogy depicting the events leading up to the subjugation of the human species.

Jason's first live performance as the Unquiet Void took place at Middle Pillar's Holiday Party in NYC, December 2004.

Coming soon is the second installment to the H.P. Lovecraft trilogy, The Shadow-Haunted Outside, which will be released on Middle Pillar Presents. It explores the awakening of the "outer gods" being the consequence of magicks activated from the Necronomicon in Poisoned Dreams.

The Unquiet Void has also recently finished (April 2006) the soundtrack to the upcoming documentary Montauk Unveiled which is a film combining interviews with people who are said to have been involved in the Montauk Project and interviews with folks who live in Montauk about the Project. The film is scripted by writer/director/producer John David Brodie and will be photographed by Chris Garetano, director of the increasingly popular "Horror Business" documentary. The soundtrack has been modified as a collaborative effort between Jason and Bryin Dall (4th Sign of the Apocalypse, Thee Majesty) and will be released as The Unquiet Void vs. 4th Sign of the Apocalypse.

Alongside the activity with The Unquiet Void, Jason is currently attending ECPI where he is nine months shy of earning an associates degree in graphic and web design. If that wasn't enough he also has two albums in progress with his other musical projects BoneDaddy (a gothic jazz project) with an album titled Cocktails with a Refreshing Twist in the works and his project VIZIONZ (w/ Craig Pillard of Methadrone) which is also brewing a debut album titled Sub-Current. Jason is also providing an exclusive track to the menu for the forthcoming anthology DVD The Hapless Experiment which consists of somewhat Lovecraftian short films. The track is called The Hidden Corner of the Room based on Lovecraft's story Dreams in the Witch House.
