About Tapestry - AU
From the far north of Australia in Darwin lies Tapestry, a young five-piece who formed in
early 2016 and wasted little to no time establishing themselves as a national presence.
The group exploded after their response from their first-show supporting Storm the Sky
in March of that year and, quickly followed it up with a north-Queensland tour in June
under the moniker ‘Territory Goes Coastal’. After releasing their first single ‘Bond’ in September of 2015, the group caught the attention of the public eye around Australia raking up support slots for Northlane and the annual festival ‘Terrorfest’. Their debut 2016 EP ‘Growth’ was recorded in Darwin by Australian producer Declan White. After the release of Growth, Tapestry embarked on an east coast tour showcasing the EP
in its entirety supporting bands such as The Brave and Advocates. The response by fans around this release has opened doors to play with acts such as Violent Soho and Angus & Julia Stone at BASSINTHEGRASS 2016 and still continue to support shows locally and interstate supporting bands such as In Hearts Wake, Polaris, Hellions & more. With the most recent release of their single "Dark Shade" in December 2017, Tapestry have been grabbing the attention of eyes and ears with the release receiving a lot of positive reviews from websites such as Alternative Press, The Music, and also being spun on radio over at triple j. The band have won multiple awards including the 2016 NT Heavy Song of the Year award for their track ‘Bond’, 2016 NT Live Act of the Year for the National Live Music Awards and have showcased at Australia’s biggest music conference BIGSOUND 2016.
