About Alex Blood & The Diggers

Alex Blood & The Diggers are a genre mashing band with a plot under their belt, and not just one for growing veg in. Their unique blend of punk, rock, rap and reggae, has forged a sound described as “impossible to pigeonhole” Lyrical wit reminiscent of the classic punk poets comes mixed with an edge and urgency in the music that commands attention. Recent gigs include support slots for acts such as Labrinth, Chase & Status, Devlin, Asian Dub Foundation, 2tone legends The Beat, Dreadzone, Jerry Dammers of The Specials, headlining Night & Day in Manchester and The Jam Cafe in Nottingham and receiving rave reviews for their energetic and dance floor filling live and acoustic sets. Formed by lyricist Alex Blood (whose solo career includes collaborations with international artists Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse, as well as touring the UK with Jay-Z) the Diggers are currently building on the strong fan base they have created through gigging and promoting their first 2 EP’s by getting ready to release their debut album project in Summer 2018. Having already gained support from BBC Introducing, the new release looks set to launch the band out of the underground and onto the radar of the mainstream. Alex Blood & The Diggers are gaining national exposure, rave reviews and an allegiance of fans. The uprising is growing stronger, question is though; can you dig it? Alex Blood is a lyricist, producer and performer. He has toured alongside Jay Z, featured on tracks with Amy Winehouse and had airplay on BBC Radio 1, 1xtra, 6Music and MTV.
