The Shake Backs

Located in Lafayette), The Shake Backs are a passionate force to be reckoned with. By fusing classic rhythms of Rockabilly with unexpected lo-fi accents, they exceed the barriers of both genres and reside in a completely unique domain all their own. The four-piece was formed in 2015 with: Gabe Bates on vocals and acting as primary songwriter, Micah Gill on lead guitar, Grant Gauthreaux on bass, Paul Louviere on drums. Poignant and sentimental lyrics in the style of parables, sung in a lamenting fashion by their front man, are the cornerstone of this band’s appeal. These dynamic words have a southern sage-like resonance which epitomize the human experience and may cause an emotional stirring deep within the pit of spirit.
