About Funk Tank
Our band's name, Funk Tank, refers to the term 'think tank.' Presently, there are ten of us on stage and even more friends helping behind the scenes; with that many minds together, at our best we can serve this area as a cultural think tank, established to preserve and push forward classic funk music. Funk Tank was established in 2015 by Alex Alfaro, Marcus Handy, Devin Hughes, Jerod Owen, Eric Schrantz, Jarrid Snider, Harry Ward and Dan Weinhaus. Funk Tank plays original music in the classic funk style, with purposeful detours through related styles (lover's rock, disco) which evoke the genre-bridging playlists of old school radio broadcasts. A powerhouse funk collective of fabled Springfield, MO and MSU alum musicians. #funkyeah
