Hailing from northern Virginia, pulses. is a 4 piece post-hardcore band whose goal is to stretch the “post” out as far as it can go. Across 3 full length albums, 2 EPs, a couple singles and covers, the band has melded upbeat R&B/hip hop, brooding emo, pop, funk, into some of their mainstay songs. In addition to those genres, their alternate a-sides include mixes of dance punk, hardcore, j-rock, and even ska or 2-step garage. To the untrained ear, this may sound like too much. However, when it’s pulses. behind the curation, you’d be surprised at how seamless these sounds can be intertwined.
