About Rhenda Fearrington

"Vocalist, Rhenda Fearrington took her Back-Up Singing skills, around the world, touring with Grammy Award Winning artists, such as Roberta Flack and Miles Davis percussionist & Philadelphia Native, James Mtume, who either opened or headlined for the following artists: Stephanie Mills, Lionel Ritchie & The Commodores, Lou Rawls, Frankie Valli, The Toys, Peabo Bryson, Chaka Khan and many others.

Rhenda spent 10 years developing and performing her motivational program- "Rhenda's Feel Sooo Good Tour!" A multi-cultural storytelling program that combines both original and classic children's songs, designed to engage and motivate children of all ages. She has presented her program throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, at schools, fairs, and festivals.

Rhenda frequently performs with Philadelphia's legends, such as Larry McKenna, Byron Landham and Mike Boone and Bootsie Barnes - most of whom appear on her debut CD, "This Moment's Sweetness." She has also collaborated on projects with Philadelphia's rising stars: pianist - Kendrah Butler, vocalist - Shamika Byrd, choreographer - Lauren Putty, et al.

Her authentic and warm presentation of jazz standards and soulful originals have been heard at Chris' Jazz Cafe, Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Barnes Museum, Jazz Bridge Concerts. Through the Philadelphia Jazz Project, she has performed for the "Strayhorn Tribute" at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, the Listening Parties throughout the city, the Irvine Auditorium as soloist and Vocal Director for the annual FROSTY and FROSTY 2. concerts.

Rhenda collaborated with PJP's Inaugural Jazz Walks in Fairmount Park, presenting Chester County Native, Ethel Water's music, with vocalist Lauren Lark, guitarist Mike Kennedy, and Spoken-word Christina May. Other performances include Vespers at the Church of the Holy Communion, in Philadelphia. Center City Jazz Festival, "Jazz In The Park" Festival, Community Unity Music Festival, Somers Point Jazz Festival in NJ, Music Of The Heart in Germantown and Joe's Pub in New York w/ the Eco-Music Big Band and the Uptown! Entertainment Alliance in West Chester.

Rhenda currently sits on the Board for Jazz Bridge - a 501c non-profit organization which assists Jazz & Blues Artists in times of crisis. She is the Manager at Barnes & Noble, in Delaware County; where she promotes Indie Authors, coaching them in getting their books presented nationally. In conjunction with PJP, She is preparing a 45-minute children's program for the Free Library, combining Children's Literature and Jazz, called: "Stop Bop & Dream!" It was inspired by the book - "Brown Girl Dreaming," by Jacqueline Woodson. It premiered on Wednesday, August 2, 2017."
