About Body & Soul Band
Singer Mark Stouwdam and guitarist Peter Schilmöller - have been ‘soul mates’ for quite a few
years. Initially as a duo that brought covers and later as a duo that started to write their own music,
which resulted in their first EP "That Is What We Do" (Twenty-Two Records 2016).
Their music can be described as a jazzy Americana sound, influenced by a broad arsenal of other
music genres. Inspired by Jason Mraz, James Taylor, John Legend and The Bros. Landreth,
among others, the duo makes an effortless mix of modern pop music with retro elements. Mark
Stouwdam takes a small art influence with them with his experience as an actor, while Peter
Schilmöller ensures the cross-overs in their music through his broad musical talent.
The audience appreciates the voice of Mark as a warm voice like that of Raul Midon and is
touched by the narrative guitar playing and the subtle accompaniment with which Peter
complements.
The formation is gladly listened to by a wide audience, at home and abroad. Wether they are,
originally, on the stage with just the two of them or accompanied with a number of good musicians,
the audience is always surprised by the impact on which the music from Body & Soul arrives.
The new Body & Soul album ("No Turning Back", Isolde Records 2020) includes musicians Matthijs
van Noort (keyboards), Frans Vollink (bass), Peter Weissink (drums) and Martin Verdonk
(percussion) among others.
